How to Stretch the External Rotation of Your Shoulder
Tight or stiff shoulders may be the result of:
- a shoulder injury
- shoulder surgery
- long-term overuse
- absolutely no reason at all – a condition known as “frozen shoulder” or adhesive capsulitis
This video shows how the Rotater can be used to increase your shoulder flexibility – specifically, the external rotation of your shoulder. These shoulder stretches:
- are very simple
- duplicate many of the same shoulder exercises that are a part of most shoulder rehab protocols
- are used in physical therapy clinics everyday
- are used by athletic trainers to increase the shoulder flexibility and range of motion of their athletes
“The Rotater has proved to be a valuable adjunct to use in caring for my shoulder patients. Whereas, teaching patients self-administered flexibility routines for the shoulder rotators has always been somewhat of a challenge, the easy to use Rotater now allows me to teach patients a simple and very effective way to perform self-stretching routines. Furthermore, I can now send them home with a device, and feel confident that they will continue to stretch in an appropriate manner.”
