“Here are my thoughts…

Motorcycle rider recovers thanks to the Rotater

Pete Genot - editor of The Healthy Minute

  1. I’m sure glad you included the video…I think I would have been lost if I just had to follow the diagrams on the instruction sheet.
  2. After a few days of watching the videos and following along with the exercises, I was able catch on. They were very easy to learn and can be done in less than 15 minutes per day.
  3. I have been using The Rotater along with the Strong-arm Attachment for the past 30 days, and I couldn’t be happier!

I injured my right shoulder over a year and a half ago in a bad motorcycle accident. I was traveling on the highway at 60 mph when some debris in the road caused my motorcycle to throw me over the handlebars.  I flew thru the air head-over-heals, and the initial impact was on my right shoulder. This caused a severe separation of the shoulder, fractured ribs and various other bruises and abrasions.  I tumbled approximately the length of a football field, passing thru the fast lane before finally landing in the center median.

My orthopedic surgeon decided against surgery, and instead recommended physical therapy. When I first started PT, I was in tremendous pain, and had very little range of motion and strength.  After several months of therapy, I was able to regain about 90% of my range of motion, although I still suffered from pain and weakness.  My doctor said this was something I would just have to live with the rest of my life.

So, after my insurance ran out, I continued to do my rehab at home and slowly regained much of my strength over the next year.

Although my shoulder was much stronger, there were exercises that I just could not do (like barbell bench press) because the pain was just too great. So, I limited myself to doing exercises using light enough weights and specific (limited) ranges of motion that did not cause pain.

The problem was, the more I worked out, the more range of motion I lost and the more pain I felt. Over a year after the accident, I was still feeling enough pain that is limited not only the things I enjoy doing (working out, playing basketball, playing baseball with my kids), but also “normal” activities like sleeping, putting on a shirt or combing my hair.  I was resigned to the fact that I would just always be in pain and would have to live with certain physical limitations.

But that all changed when I started using The Rotater.

After doing the stretching exercises the very first day, I noticed that my shoulder really felt better.  I was shocked. You see, I was pretty skeptical that this “contraption” would really be able to help me. I already exercised and did some “basic” shoulder stretches the PT taught me, so I didn’t think this funny looking piece of plastic could do any better.

Boy…I’m sure glad I was wrong!

I didn’t realize that the muscles, ligaments and tendons The Rotater helps were so different than the ones I use to do a dumbell press or lateral raise. Those exercises actually hurt, while the one I do with The Rotater give me RELIEF.

I currently use The Rotater to stretch my shoulder about 5 days per week, and I use the Strong-arm Attachment to do strengthening exercises 2 – 3 times per week.

Since I started following this program, I have improved the strength and stability of the shoulder, increased my range of motion to nearly 100% of what it was before the accident and… more importantly…have greatly reduced the amount of pain I feel in and around the shoulder.

This has allowed me to do the things I enjoy again…like shooting a basketball, throwing a baseball to my son, or lifting my 2-year old daughter in the air…without as much pain.

I owe you much thanks!”

Sincerely,

Pete Genot

World Class Athletic Performance Coach Impressed with the Rotater

July 13, 2010

A few months ago we sent a Rotater to Doug Fioranelli for testing and evaluation.  Doug is one of the premier personal trainers in the world and has trained high school, Olympic and professional athletes.  Check out Doug’s testimonials! Here are some of Doug’s qualifications:

  • Doug has Master’s degree in Kinesiology

Doug Fioranelli - World Class Personal Trainer

Doug Fioranelli - World Class Performance Trainer

  • he has been published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research
  • Doug is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • he is a Certified Olympic Weightlifting Club Coach through the USA Weightlifting Association (USAW)
  • he is a Certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor under Pavel Tsatsouline (RKC Level II)
  • Doug is a Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition (CISSN)

Doug Fioranelli gives his opinion of the Rotater

“I had the opportunity to use The Rotater for several months now and I have to say this is an amazing product.  It is very simple to use and easy to understand.  Pretty much get it out of the box and you are ready to go.

I think it is very important for people to realize that joints do not move in the exact same pattern even when essentially performing the same motion.  It is a huge advantage to expose, strengthen, and mobilize the shoulder joint and its muscles in as many movement patterns as possible to ensure their optimal strength, stability and performance.  The Rotater allows for unlimited angles to stretch, mobilize and  strengthening the joint and muscles around the shoulder to maintain its movement and integrity.

I found The Rotater to be a great tool and have even loaned mine out to friends who were having shoulder inhibition and pain.  I highly recommend that you add this fantastic tool to your arsenal and keep your shoulder joints mobile, strong and healthy for life.

Pros:

  • Simple to use and easy to understand.  Pretty much get it out of the box and you are ready to go, I like that.
  • The unlimited angles for stretching and strengthening.  I think it is very important for people to realize that generally joints do not move in the same pattern even when essentially performing the same motion.  It is a huge advantage to expose, strengthen, and mobilize the joint and muscles in as many movement patterns as possible to ensure their optimal strength, stability and performance
  • I like how easy it is to stretch and strengthen the muscles of the shoulder when the arm is placed behind the back.  It is VERY difficult to do this without The Rotater.  I was surprised to see how limited my right side was until I used it and I was able to gain some ROM using it.

CONS: (I am being very very nit picky, I think it is a great product)

  • Plastic frame could be a little stronger.  I did not break mine but I did almost step on it getting out of bed and could have cracked it.  I also felt it “flex” sometimes when I do certain movements.  Maybe just a little harder plastic would be good for future frames.
  • I think the elastic strengthening band could be a little easier to adjust when switching angles and tension.  I think instead of closed loops on the frame and untying it each time, maybe an open “bulb-shaped” slot could work where the elastic could just drop down and secure itself in there
  • My DVD sound only worked on the main menu page, not sure if it was just mine or a few of them.”

Golfer takes the Rotater to the Course

October 13, 2009

Flexibility - Power - Distance

Flexibility - Power - Distance

I am an avid golfer who at a very young age developed shoulder problems while playing baseball and lifting heavy weights in my youth. Until now, I have had to put up with the nagging stiffness and pain in my shoulders and my golf game has suffered for it.

I have been using The Rotater for several months now. When I first received The Rotater I was skeptical. It didn’t look like anything fancy or the next best thing to help my shoulder, but after watching the videos and learning the stretches, The Rotater now hangs near my bed for stretches first thing in the morning and it rides with me to the course for 20 minutes of stretching prior to hitting balls.

For the first time in a long time, I am actually completing my back-swings and getting through the ball for a fuller finish. My long irons and woods have now become a weapon in my bag instead of dead weight. My shoulder pain has all but disappeared due to my increase in strength. I will continue to use The Rotater for stretching as long as I am able to play golf, walk and breathe.

Thank you!

Golfer Improves Shoulder Flexibility with the Rotater

Shoulder pain while sleeping is common and frustrating

Shoulder pain while sleeping is common and frustrating

“Back in 2007 I started experiencing pain in my right shoulder mostly at nights while sleeping.  Being someone who loves to play golf this became a concern especially since several friends and my wife all had shoulder surgery.

I ended up seeing my doctor and found out I had bone spurs in my shoulder that were rubbing and irritating my rotator cuff.  Of course after surgery there’s physical therapy.  I was in physical therapy for about 2 months and everything went really well, but I wasn’t back to the same flexibility in my shoulder as before even though I continued to do the exercises.

At the Jan. 2008 PGS Merchandise show in Orlando, I was at the Rotater booth and listened to what Chris Melton had to say about the Rotater.  Sounded interesting but I didn’t do anything at first.

Full shoulder turn with no pain

Full shoulder turn with no pain

After wallking around the show for awhile, I decided to buy one and give it a try.

I’ve been using the Rotater nearly everyday now and my shoulder flexibility has improved and is greater than before the shoulder surgery.  As a golfer this is important for generating distance and control.”

Rehab Device Duplicates Physical Therapy Stretches

July 21, 2009

“I am a police officer who during a foot pursuit after a fleeing suspect injured my right shoulder. The diagnosis was a detached proximal bicep tendon and seriously damaged shoulder joint as well.

Fall contribute to many serious shoulder injuries

Fall contribute to many serious shoulder injuries

I underwent two procedures to attach the tendon and clean up the shoulder joint. As anyone knows who has had a shoulder surgery, the post op was very painful and the my range of motion almost nothing for the first month.

When I started to use the Rotater it was painful but I was able to use it all day everyday, slowly but surely increasing the force and range of motion. There was nothing else I could find that would duplicate the same kind of stretches my physical therapist was doing on me like the Rotater did.

I could only see my PT twice a week too. He told me that he was amazed at how quickly I got my range of motion back as well as my strength. When I went to see the surgeon for a post visit he was also amazed at how quickly I had regained the use of my shoulder. I was able to go back to full duty two months ahead of his projected schedule.

And as far as the customer service, I broke my Rotater from so much use and they promptly shipped me a new one no questions asked. I still use it today on both of my shoulders.

Thanks to the rotater I was able to get back to work and not lose the use of my shoulder in this demanding profession.”

Neuromuscular Therapist makes Shoulder Rehab Device part of Shoulder Program

July 21, 2009

“Here at NPI our clientele are typically people who have seemingly been everywhere and done everything for their chronic pain conditions and have gotten nowhere. The biggest difference between what we do and what others do is getting the clients very active in their own recovery. We empower them through education to heal themselves with very specific home based “self care” programs.

Until the Rotater, at home shoulder care was a difficult undertaking. Since we ran into the Rotater guys at the PGA Expo in Las Vegas our shoulder program has been unbelievable. We pride ourselves on “simple” solutions to complicated problems and…WITHOUT A DOUBT…the Rotater is the simplest yet most effective shoulder tool I have seen in 15 years of dealing with chronic pain. My clients thank you.”

Long Driver Increases Shoulder Flexibility and Loses Shoulder Pain

July 9, 2009

“I’ve been using the Rotater every second day and use it while warming up before a round. I’ve been in AZ for the past month and had an interesting experience.

It was a long par 4, 485 yds. I hit driver – lob wedge. Usually I would have driver – 5 or 6 iron.

So the Range of motion increase and the flexibility was noticeable to me. I’ve also had less soreness in the shoulder where my old football shoulder separation was.

It seems that the Rotater is helping breakdown the scar tissue that gave the shoulder some of its stiffness and pain.”

Bob Orr, Long Drive Consultant

powered by Splicd.com

Stats for Bob Orr

  • Longest drive in competition – 376 yards
  • Longest drive ever – 408 yards – on the 10th hole at Industry Hills
  • Winner Nitro National Senior Long Drive 1997
  • Current age 61 years
  • Average driving distance – a little over 300 yards
  • Problem Calcium and scar tissue build up from former football shoulder separation had restricted my flexibility. The Rotater used daily for 6 months at 10-15 minutes daily alleviated the majority of my pain and increased my flexibility by 40% Plus.

Update from Bob

“Your Rotater has been the best rehabilitation for my shoulder. the old football injuries that gave me a stiffness has been relieved and my shoulder rotation for long driving the golf ball has been great. Not many 61 year old guys can get it out over 320 yds which I did last week at a charity event fundraiser for Lukemia.”
