The One Arm Shoulder Press
November 12, 2011
I read a lot. I think reading is important … especially when you have a web-based business like ours. There are a wide variety of topics that interest me ..
- business
- marketing
- technology
- shoulder rehab and performance
- fitness
- kettlebells
- weightlifting
On any given day, I’m scouring the internet in search of information. Yesterday, my search led to an article by Dan John, titled “The One Arm Press”. Dan is something of a renaissance man … having a wide variety of information on a number of topics from religion to physical performance. To make a long story shorter, Dan’s article inspired me to post a video on YouTube showing a way to do the one arm press that allows you to easily and quickly add or remove weight so you can do both ascending or descending sets without spending lots of money. Here’s the video….
Be sure to stop by Dan’s blog and read his article on the one arm press to see why he thinks it’s such a great full-body exercise. Give my version of the one arm press a try and let me know what you think.
Shoulder Recovery with a “FREE” Rotater
July 11, 2011
Everyone needs a friend like StrongMan Bob. Bob bought a Rotater from us a couple of years ago and has been spreading Rotater love all over the place. He even wrote this article where he separates the hype from “real-life” results – (P)Rehab Gadgets: The Good, The Not So Good.
Anyway, to get on with the story…several months ago, Bob won a FREE Rotater on our Facebook Page. (YES!!! We give away FREE Rotaters …and the best way to win one is to Join Our Facebook Page). After winning Bob sent me a message. Basically he wanted to know if we’d send his Rotater to a friend who was having shoulder issues. We said “sure”.
Shoulder Abuse & Recovery
We sent that Rotater to Sara Fleming, a fitness trainer and USA Weightlifting coach. To make a long story shorter, Sara added the Rotater to her shoulder rehab / prehab program and wrote this article outlining her journey – Shoulder Abuse and Recovery. From the article:
…One of my friends was kind enough to send me another piece of equipment called “The Rotator” which is useful for both strengthening and stretching the internal and external rotators. I found this particularly useful for stretching and use it both before and after workouts…
Did Sara’s shoulder recover? Read the blog and find out for yourself.

Shoulder Flexibility for Powerlifters?

Mike Bridges – Powerlifting Superstar
I had the opportunity to meet Mike and Chris Bridges, this past June in San Antonio at the National Athletic Trainer Association’s (NATA) annual meeting. We were enjoying breakfast in the restaurant of our hotel when Mike and Chris sat down at the table next to us. Mike’s hard to “not notice”, so we introduced ourselves and struck up a conversation.
Mike and Chris are “good” people who’re easy to get to know. If you ever see them, don’t be afraid to say “Hi”.
IPF World Champion uses the Rotater
During our conversations that weekend, we introduced Mike to the Rotater – our shoulder rehab and stretching device. Mike gave it a quick try and said he’d like to take one home. After several months, we received the following email:
“I must say that the simplicity of the tool almost lends itself to skepticism but one try and any athlete will appreciate the benefit of the stretch. It’s so simple but effective. I use it all the time to relieve the shoulder stress of bench pressing and after seeing how effective it is I have introduced other lifters to it as well. A friend of mine recently had shoulder surgery and didn’t think he’d ever be able to bench press competitively again. He was amazed at how easy it is to use the Rotater and after using it he is convinced that he will recover fully and be competing again soon.
Even without any injury, this tool is a great to stretch the shoulders prior to squatting too. It allows you to get under the bar much more easily and without pain, even after bench pressing.
One of the best things about this tool is its’ portability. Being lightweight it is easily packable for traveling or just to carry in your gym bag to have it handy when you (or others) might need it.”

Disclosure: Mike was provided with a Rotater at no charge. His testimonial was voluntary and not required.
