Shoulder Recovery with a “FREE” Rotater
July 11, 2011
Everyone needs a friend like StrongMan Bob. Bob bought a Rotater from us a couple of years ago and has been spreading Rotater love all over the place. He even wrote this article where he separates the hype from “real-life” results – (P)Rehab Gadgets: The Good, The Not So Good.
Anyway, to get on with the story…several months ago, Bob won a FREE Rotater on our Facebook Page. (YES!!! We give away FREE Rotaters …and the best way to win one is to Join Our Facebook Page). After winning Bob sent me a message. Basically he wanted to know if we’d send his Rotater to a friend who was having shoulder issues. We said “sure”.
Shoulder Abuse & Recovery
We sent that Rotater to Sara Fleming, a fitness trainer and USA Weightlifting coach. To make a long story shorter, Sara added the Rotater to her shoulder rehab / prehab program and wrote this article outlining her journey – Shoulder Abuse and Recovery. From the article:
…One of my friends was kind enough to send me another piece of equipment called “The Rotator” which is useful for both strengthening and stretching the internal and external rotators. I found this particularly useful for stretching and use it both before and after workouts…

Overhead Lifting for Animals
June 1, 2011
Lifting any kind of weight over your head requires full-body engagement….everything from your legs, to your core…and of course your shoulders.
If you’re like most people who train, doing the same old shoulder lifts (military presses and seated dumbbell presses) can get so boring!!! Why not add a little variety to your workout routine? Lift some crazy stuff. Want some ideas? Here’s a great video from UnderGround Strength Coach, Zach Even-Esh. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
Do you have any stuff laying around that you could add to your program?
- a keg … leftover from your college days
- an anvil
- build a sandbag or heavy medicine ball
- how about a slosh pipe
You can check out more of Zach’s videos on Youtube. Leave me a comment…let me know what kind of crazy stuff you lift over your head.
How to Stretch Shoulder External Rotation
November 10, 2010
Stiff, tight shoulders are usually the result of:
- shoulder injury
- shoulder surgery
- long-term overuse – repeating the same motion, over and over
- absolutely no reason at all – a condition known as “frozen shoulder” or adhesive capsulitis
This video reveals how the Rotater will increase your shoulder flexibility – specifically, the external rotation of your shoulder. These shoulder stretches:
- are very simple
- duplicate many of the same shoulder stretches that are a part of most shoulder rehab protocols
- are used in physical therapy clinics everyday
- are used by athletic trainers to increase the shoulder flexibility and range of motion of their athletes
“I am absolutely amazed with the effectiveness of the Rotater. My client no longer has pain or discomfort in his shoulder, is performing shoulder presses, lat pulldowns, and will NOT require seeing a specialist…” – read how this trainer helped his client’s shoulder

Thanks to Jason Pegg
I want to thank Jason Pegg for mentioning the Rotater during his video tour of DC Barbell – the home of Muncie Personal Training. Jason is an accomplished powerlifter who has posted some impressive lifts:
- 915 lb. squat
- 565 lb. bench press
- 725 lb. deadlift
In the video
At about 3:10 of the video, Jason pans across his Rotater and mentions that it’s an “awesome, awesome shoulder device..really helps with the rotator cuff flexibility”.

Shoulder Flexibility for Powerlifters?
November 21, 2009
Mike Bridges – Powerlifting Superstar
I had the opportunity to meet Mike and Chris Bridges, this past June in San Antonio at the National Athletic Trainer Association’s (NATA) annual meeting. We were enjoying breakfast in the restaurant of our hotel when Mike and Chris sat down at the table next to us. Mike’s hard to “not notice”, so we introduced ourselves and struck up a conversation.
Mike and Chris are “good” people who’re easy to get to know. If you ever see them, don’t be afraid to say “Hi”.
IPF World Champion uses the Rotater
During our conversations that weekend, we introduced Mike to the Rotater – our shoulder rehab and stretching device. Mike gave it a quick try and said he’d like to take one home. After several months, we received the following email:
“I must say that the simplicity of the tool almost lends itself to skepticism but one try and any athlete will appreciate the benefit of the stretch. It’s so simple but effective. I use it all the time to relieve the shoulder stress of bench pressing and after seeing how effective it is I have introduced other lifters to it as well. A friend of mine recently had shoulder surgery and didn’t think he’d ever be able to bench press competitively again. He was amazed at how easy it is to use the Rotater and after using it he is convinced that he will recover fully and be competing again soon.
Even without any injury, this tool is a great to stretch the shoulders prior to squatting too. It allows you to get under the bar much more easily and without pain, even after bench pressing.
One of the best things about this tool is its’ portability. Being lightweight it is easily packable for traveling or just to carry in your gym bag to have it handy when you (or others) might need it.”

18 time National/14 time World Champion Powerlifter
Disclosure: Mike was provided with a Rotater at no charge. His testimonial was voluntary and not required.
