About Us
The inventor of the ROTATER, Scott Kay, is an avid motorcycle racer and has been racing for about thirty-one years. Due to the nature of racing, Scott has been in his share of pile-ups which has resulted in three broken shoulders requiring surgery.
It was during his most recent recovery from surgery that Scott, who was trying to speed-up his rehabilitation, created the ROTATER. Frustrated that he was losing his range of motion between visits to his physical therapists, Scott set out to create a device that he could use at home to supplement the progress he was experiencing in therapy.
We (Joint Mechanix, LLC) feel that many people could help facilitate their own recovery if they could implement certain exercises at home. Due to the complexity of the shoulder joint, it had been impossible (in the past) for a person to stretch the internal and external rotation of their shoulder properly without assistance, however, because of the ROTATER, this is no longer the case.
The ROTATER provides a safe way for a patient to supplement physical therapy by allowing them to self-stretch their shoulders both internally and externally.
We feel that most people want to recover as soon as possible and the ROTATER gives them a way to participate in that process.
